Black Chook Shiraz Viognier 2006

WineMad had never even heard of Shiraz Viognier. We’d had some Viognier the past few summers and had heard of Cote-Rotie, but were unaware of its composition. When Shiraz-Viogner came up in the title of one of the reviews on WineMad, we knew we had to try it.

We purchased a bottle of 2006 Black Chook Shiraz Viognier for $16. Decanted tonight, initial impressions: nose has a pronounced smoked meat note, berries & fruit on the palate, would definitely pair well with food. Good QPR, will definitely try more Shiraz Viognierand Cote-Rotie!
